The NIHR Exeter CRF offers a range of educational opportunities for healthcare professionals, ranging from placements for student nurses and in-house apprenticeships to annual research symposia and international training days.

Annual Research Symposium
The NIHR Exeter CRF team works in collaboration with the Clinical Trials team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to run an annual research symposium for staff interested and involved in research.
This event is held in November each year and is fully subscribed and attended by over 100 healthcare professionals. Nurses, midwives and allied health care professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts and posters for presentation / discussion with prizes awarded in the following categories:
- Patient experience
- Project management / improvement
- Clinical care / clinical science
The programme varies each year but includes presentations from local researchers on a range of research projects / initiatives and is an opportunity for celebrating local research achievements, highlighting the breadth of research being undertaken and networking with colleagues.
